If you happened to read the description of the piece “Held” you will know that, in addition to being an artist I am also a breathwork teacher. This painting is where my artistic and breathwork worlds collide. Often during meditation, breathwork, or when I am just taking a moment to find my zen I go to my “quiet place” in my mind. This painting invites the observer to think of their own “quiet place.” Maybe you can imagine sitting with your back against the firm, rough bark of a tree. Perhaps the idea of listening to the stream flow by resonates with you. You may simply look at this work and “get it.” Wheverever your personal reaction this painting invites you to take a closer look inside at where you find your calm space.
