My very first love affair with an artist was with Georgia O’Keefe. There was something about the way she captured light and shadows and these amazing scenes of the southwest and flowers that totally captivated me. So when I had a chance to go to the ranch where she used to live and stay there for a long weekend I couldn’t pass up the chance.

This scene is from the road on the way into the ranch. I sat and drew the scene before me and got swept away in the beauty of what laid before me. It was easy for me to imagine how O’Keefe became so inspired by the New Mexico landscape surrounding her and I was honored to be able to create art in her foot prints.
